We organised an enormous Christmas tree to be put up outside the Eric Liddell Centre at Holy Corner - which is where we hold most of our public meetings - and on a clear, cold Thursday evening in December about eighty singers from George Watson’s College and community choir Songworks entertained the crowds, then local MSP Mike Pringle switched on the tree lights. Thanks to generous sponsorship from a number of  local businesses we were also able to provide mince pies and hot drinks in the Eric Liddell Centre afterwards.

Many people who took advantage of this cocklewarming hospitality admitted they had never been inside the building before. Locals sometimes comment that they find the rather austere, ecclesiastical exterior of the Centre a little intimidating, and it certainly does not reflect the type and range of community activities that go on inside – or the warmth of the welcome you will get from the Centre’s staff.

The magnificent stained glass windows are a well known feature of the building and illustrate much of its history. Tours of the Eric Liddell Centre can be arranged through Rebekah.
